Il Venerabile Volto del Nostro Redentore nella vita e gli scritti del Beato Dun Ġorġ Preca (1880-1962)
Abstract
The following is an analysis of Dun Ġorġ Preca’s affection to the Person of Jesus Christ as expressed in his devotion to the Holy Face of Christ. Beginning with his imaginative description of the facial features of Jesus, the article shows that the Person of Jesus Christ is central both to the saint’s spirituality and his particular mission in the Church. Particular attention is given to the writings on the Holy Face which intend to introduce the reader to the intellectual and affective contemplation of the Sacred Humanity of the Lord. The Holy Face thus becomes a paradigm of the whole person of Christ and its beauty a means of attraction that thrusts the Christian into a life of allegiance to Jesus Christ.
