Stein, Edith, O.C.D., Potency and Act
Abstract
This major philosophical work by Edith Stein, known in religious life as Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, was written in 1931 but first published in Germany in 1998. As stated by the translator in his introductory note, this forms one of three chief works in which Stein fuses together the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas, which she carefully studied upon converting to Catholicism, and the philosophy of Edmund Husserl, under whom she had studied in Goettingen, thus producing her own thought which is meant as a perennial philosophy.
