Wyclif or Woodford?

Abstract

This review article was written some years ago, but never published. As it contains some illuminating comments on the 14th century prior general, Gerard of Bologna, it deserves to be made more widely available. In addition, Fr. Hurley’s analysis of the dispute between John Wyclif and William Woodford is a very valuable addition to the previous article by Dr. Ian Levy which covers the debate between Wiclif and the Carmelite John Kynyngham. The opportunity has been taken to update a few of the footnotes. [Note of Richard Copsey, O.Carm.].
