Abstract

This morning I received an email from a PhD student working on a Carmelite author, sending me his prospectus and asking for advice.  Happily, I had agreed to write this book review, so I had the volume handy. I was able to respond with great erudition that  some of the information in the prospectus was no longer valid, that other data was incorrect in the details, and that in other ways the  student’s bio-bibliographical survey needed updating. Being an honest man, however, I suggested that the student turn to this book.
